IFHE was first organized to contribute to the international communities through studies of home economics and education, and its first meeting was held in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1908. The secretarial office was first set up in Lucerne, but now it is in Paris. This paper consists of a summary of the author’s report, entitled "Food Education of elementary schools in Japan" and presented at the above meeting, and the author’s thoughts gained from the participants’ questions and suggestions for food education in Japan.
